Jessica’s Journeys: Part 2

Jessica's Journeys

It’s been a little while since I first launched Jessica’s Journeys. This was a huge step for me and I’m excited to share the next chapter in my little story!

As you may have seen on my recent Instagram post @duchessupton- I am with child, and my husband and I are expecting a tiny addition to our family.

This is something we’ve been contemplating for a couple years, but God finally intervened and decided now is the time. And I honestly couldn’t be more grateful for the timing, all the while being terrified about how this will affect my career and business.

I recognize how blessed I am to have this little miracle due in February, a slow time in wedding season. Hoorah! And I’m super thankful to be “large and in charge” 😉 in the cooler months instead of the brutal heat of the Texas summer!

The flip side is that having a family in this industry can be super challenging. When starting Uptown I knew that I wanted each and every bride I worked with to feel special and important. The last thing I would ever want an Uptown to bride to feel is second. So this a challenge that I have been foreseeing over the past couple of years when discussing a family with my husband. Now that we are midst of this, I am recognizing how all the more grateful I am for our wonderful lead wedding planner Morgan Prejean!

I realized the need to bring a new planner in about a year and a half ago. After months of searching for the right fit, Morgan came into our interview bubbly, fresh faced and eager. I realized the potential Morgan brought to Uptown and her dedication has truly shown over the past year she has been with the company. I was thrilled to find out recently that one of Morgan’s first weddings with Uptown made it on Style Me Pretty! A huge accomplishment and a something to be very proud of! She is a fantastic asset to Uptown and I know our brides are in her very loving and dedicated hands.

So during the exciting times over the next several months, we are going to happily be sharing how Uptown is growing and evolving! We hope you will continue to to share in our excitements with us!
