Trends come and go throughout the fashion world, and the bridal world is no exception! There are some classic wedding dress styles that make like Taylor Swift and “never go out of style.” However, it’s helpful to for brides-to-be to know what the current wedding dress trends are. We sat down with Blue Bridal Boutique and Unbridaled to learn a bit more about what’s currently #trending in the wedding dress world!
Blue Bridal Boutique
When it comes to the Austin bride, there is truly no one “trend.” Every bride wants to find a dress that captivates who they are while making them feel special and beautiful. As we all know, Austin is known for being an eclectic city. So the wedding gowns that we carry in our inventory truly reflect that. There has recently been a resurgence of classic ballgowns and we are seeing more and more brides go for the elegant, traditional designs. On the other end of the spectrum, we have many brides calling in for one of our more sought after designers, Made With Love Bridal, for their sleek, boho, and unique designs. Being the only shop in Austin who carries them, we have brides coming in from all over to try on their gowns.
Unique Boho Designs
Some other trends we are noticing are intricate beadwork (we love the designer Anna Campbell for her beadwork), simplistic A-lines (we specifically love the designer Leanne Marshall for this style), and long sleeved gowns (don’t worry, no poofy sleeves just yet!).
Long-Sleeved Wedding Dress
Just as with all fashion, bridal trends tend to be cyclical and repeat. Currently, the big bridal trends are:
Deep V Necklines
This has proven to be flattering on a wide variety of body types as this feature can be paired with many different silhouettes and styles.
Being a #bohobride is a huge trend that won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.
These are perfect for the bride who wants to show off her back!
Non-traditional fabrics are in right now, ranging from patterned to textural.
Blush is huge among many designers. We also love that some of our designers are willing to push the envelope with a wide variety of color options.
From a true top and skirt to a dress with an overskirt, brides love the idea of mixing and matching for a customized look!
