Calling all Austin maids-of-honor: with wedding season approaching, bachelorette party season also approaches! Like most of us, you might be too busy to create the perfect day for your special gal pal, but don’t worry we at Uptown Events have you covered. Here is our list of 5 fun and fabulous bachelorette party ideas.
You can never go wrong with a good brunch! Whether you’re looking for classic eggs benedict or Tex-Mex migas, Austin has a wide range of amazing restaurants. Luckily, many brunches have good deals too! Tacos and Tequila has a weekend brunch buffet including mimosas while Green Pastures’ buffet gives you access to their Southern Milk Punch made with bourbon, rum, and brandy. Bess Bistro, owned by Sandra Bullock, is also well known for its brunch. Follow your meal up with a mini Sandra movie marathon (we’re partial to While You Were Sleeping!) and you have a perfect day.
2. Wine/Champagne Tasting
Looking for something with more structure? A wine or champagne tasting might be the perfect activity for you! House Wine holds tasting classes every Tuesday and every other Saturday with different themes and wines each week. If you happen to be celebrating during April 24-26, your party can celebrate at the Austin Food and Wine Festival. The program’s schedule includes over 40 culinary demos, and wine, beer and cocktail tasting session.
3. Cheese Tasting
A sophisticated afternoon can be spent learning more about wine’s best friend – cheese! Antonelli’s Cheese Shop hosts many events every month that your group could attend, but an intimate educational class might be just what your bride-to-be is looking for. In a Guided Tour, Antonelli’s ‘cheesemongers’ will lead you through a tasting of seven cheeses along with bread, olives, nuts, etc. The tour hour course also covers cheese history and the best ways to taste and enjoy your cheese.
4. Pub Crawler
Bride-to-be not a fan of wine? The Pubcrawler combines biking and beer in one unique tour of the city. Casually peddling around downtown Austin with your girls is a great opportunity to enjoy a nice spring day. However for this option you need to make sure to have at least ten people – the minimum advised number of peddlers.
5. Dance Class
For the more athletically-inclined, a fun dance party hosted by Dance Follies is a perfect option. With fun themes like Dirty Dancing, Michael Jackson and even Queen B (Beyonce, of course!) your gals will be able to dance the day away, practice choreography for the big day and watch the bride-to-be get a makeover. Don’t worry – there’s also champagne involved! If your group is feeling a little more adventurous, you can keep it weird with a Pole-Dancing Class. Brass Ovaries hosts private parties where the bridal party can learn a low-impact dance routine.
All in all, Austin is a fun and exciting destination for Bachelorette parties and we absolutely love sending our brides out for their “last single night” in this incredible city!
