Tropical Styled Shoot

The Austin wedding planning world is filled with creativity, inspiration and those daring enough to try out new ideas. We’ve seen a trend of neutral colored wedding design that is both romantic and beautiful, and it’s one we hope sticks around! However, we’re also pretty passionate about color. Uptown Events & Travel has a thing for pops of bright colors so when we got chance to feed that passion of ours, we went a bit crazy!

So, how about a little color to brighten your summer? Our Cuban inspired styled shoot we designed alongside Amber Vickery Photography this spring warmed our hearts with vibrant colors, extravagant florals and unique rentals.

When working with color, you can have a ton of fun and still create an elegant design, as long as you have the atmosphere, creativity and fluidity between each piece of the aesthetic. After creating an endless inspiration board of colors, florals and pops of Cuban culture, we knew we needed to find the perfect venue to serve as the venue’s backdrop. Our new favorite venue, One Eleven East in Hutto, TX proved to be the perfect backdrop for this over the top color display. Their all white conception captivated us from the moment we laid eyes on it. We saw beautiful displays of neutrals and black in white within the space, but we’re excited to see how color would pop against the white walls.

We are so, so happy we chose One Eleven East. Can you see why?

Once we determined the venue, the design pieces fell into place magically. Birch & Brass Vintage Rentals provided the details- large and small, for the ceremony and tablescape which truly brought our vision to life. Their Mexican Equipale Chairs caught our eyes and truly transformed our ideas into a reality. From the small golden pineapples on the tumblers, to the raw wood farm tables, each piece fit perfectly into our colorful vision. Petals, Ink was the icing on our cake! Gretchen, creator of the sweetest floral company around, wowed us from the start with her easy going personality and her true expertise and passion for florals. We asked for bright and she did not disappoint. She introduced me to flowers I had never heard of!!

Not only was this shoot beautiful, but it was delicious! We incorporated dessert into our tablescape with the help of three wonderful dessert vendors- Cakes Rock!!! Melody’s Joy, and Fluff Meringue. Melody’s Joy rents out unique vintage dessert displays that truly make our heart happy. These trays were used by Fluff Meringue, the cutest and fluffiest desserts in all of Austin to dress up our tablescape. Can you imagine being a wedding guest and seeing that you can eat the centerpiece in front of you? We can go ahead and say that is money well spent! Cakes Rock!! finalized the design with her beautiful, hand painted cake design. Inspired by Cuban tiling, Christy used blues, greens and yellows (and a lot of hand sculpted genius) to make a delicious and beautiful wedding cake that became the gem of the shoot.

We like to tell clients that paper goods are the start to their big day. From the second wedding guests received their save the date, they are forming a vision of your wedding day. That’s why we recommend the very best when it comes to paper goods. How stunning is Fine Day Press’ paper designs? Ashley took tiny bits of inspiration from us gals and created a masterpiece. The use of color is just right, and fell into our tablescape design perfectly. She knew the impact and importance of color, and used just the right amount to create effortless, jaw dropping paper goods.

The shoot isn’t complete without a beautiful bridal model. We got lucky with our stunning model Andrea who made every shot magical. We adorned her with Kendra Scott jewels and a Katie May dress from our favorite bridal shop, Unbridaled! Revelry Beauty proved as always to bring Andrea’s beautiful features to life with delicate curls and subtle pops of colorful makeup.
